Tour at 9:00 and 13:00 : RUNNING FROM ANOTHER HARBOUR

Tour at 13:00 Report from Eldey: Grindavik keeps on providing us with great wildlife! Barely five minutes after departures we spotted a tall dorsal fin, there was an orca greeting us outside of the harbour! We followed this lonely male for 10 minutes until we decided to head toward the same area than this morning, willing to have another incredible encounter with humpbacks. We were stopped in our tracks by another 2 killer whales! Two more males were strolling around. They were unpredictable in their surfacing, but we still managed to have a good look at them. Spotting tall blows in the distance we resumed the sailing and sighted no less than 5 humpback whales! One of them swam 50m within our vicinity, once more offering great sightings. After running out of time, we had a smooth way back under a bright sun. Keep the dream livin', Grindavik!

Tour at 09:00

Report from Eldey: We left from Grindavik omce more and conditions were almost perfect. Blue skies, great visibility for spotting and little wind. The sea had a small swell but was nothing that caused any problems. We journeyed westward and encountered 2 humpback whales within the first 30 minutes of the tour. The tall blows were seen at a far distance which were soon followed by the flukes as they performed a deep dive. The pair remained below the surface for some time with each deep dive so we decided to continue the search for more humpbacks that would be easier to view. We were rewarded with the gamble and soon found another individual as we turned north along the south west coastline. This humpback approached our vessel and was lazily playing around our ship, surfacing within 5 metres. The whale raised it´s pectoral fins and lifted the flukes gently tapping them on the waters surface. This humpback provided a great encounter for all on board. Everyone left with a huge smile on their face as we returned to the harbour.

We expect the tour to run for approximately 5 hrs. today and warn that this may impact COMBO tours. Guests that are unable to join the tour due to it's length are advised to contact their travel planner and check for alternatives and other options.
