Status Tour 17:00: CANCELLED
Unfortunately we have to cancel our Whale Watching tour at 5pm today due to strong winds and unfavorable sea conditions.
Tour at 13.00
Report from Elding: On the tour, we experienced all the different weather Iceland has to offer. It was snowing one minute, then sunshine and the hail. The expression "if you don't like the weather in Iceland, wait five minutes for it to change" was spot on today. Looking for wildlife we spotted a big flock of northern gannets and went to search the area. The birds are great indicators, to show us where are fish and maybe whales in the area. This was the case today, and we found two minke whales. The minke whales where difficult to predict, but we got a beautiful look of one of them, coming close to the boat lunge feeding. A trip with interchangeably weather and some nice sighting of wildlife.

Tour at 09:00
Report from Elding: As the day before, we started our tour from Keflavik harbour due to better sea state in that area. Nevertheless, the wind was quite strong and with the periodical occurrence of snow and hail, this sailing was an adventure by itself. We searched the area where humpback whales have been seen the previous day, but we couldn't spot them this time. Other then feeling like true vikings in the unforgiving, harsh wind, we saw dozens of beautiful northern gannets and other bird species gliding next to us and plunge-diving with ferocity and at the same time grace. Although missing the "superstars", a memorable tour indeed.

Bird species seen on today's tours: northern fulmar, blue fulmar, northern gannet, atlantic puffin, common guillemot, lesser black-backed gull, manx shearwater, icelandic gull, eider duck
Status tour 09:00 and 13:00: RUNNING FROM ANOTHER HARBOR
