Tour at 17:00
Report from Eldey: The wind had picked up by the time we left the harbour this afternoon, but the sky was mostly clear and the visibility still excellent. We searched the bay unsuccessfully for the first two hours of the tour, catching a quick glimpse of an elusive minke whale in the distance, before loosing track of it again. As we headed back to the harbour nearly defeated, we came across a pod of at least 8 white-beaked dolphins! They swam around the boat for a short while, among them was a mother travelling with her calf. Unfortunately, we couldn't spend much time with the dolphins as we were running late. For this reason, we offered complimentary tickets to give our passengers another chance to enjoy sightings without having a nice encounter cut short by time constraints.

Tour at 13:00
Report from Eldey: Going against the pleasant chilly wind and with some swell, we sailed bravely into another adventure. After maybe 45 minutes of sailing we encountered a playful pod of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins. The behaviour the were exhibiting was quite peculiar. We might have witnessed mating. We left them in peace and soon after came across another pod of the same size that swam quite close to the hull a couple of times. After that we spotted a minke whale, but it turned out to be a rather shy individual and it was difficult for everyone on board to see the animal. For this reason we handed out complimentary tickets to our guests so they can give it one more try with the bigger cetaceans.

Tour 14:00
Report from Hafsúlan: Sailing out from Reykjavik, the wind had picked up a little and we had some swells. After only 20 minutes of sailing we saw a minke whale, but it was very elusive. We stayed in the area for a while hoping that we could get a better look of the animal, but it didn't want to interact today. Unexpected wind witch picked up, made our sailing home a real Viking experience. Because of the weather conditions and the few sightings of cetacean, we decided to invite everybody back to try again, giving out complimentary tickets. Better luck next time!

Tour 10:00
Report from Hafsúlan: **Still the sea state was quite nice as we sailed out into the bay but this was supposed to be a bit of a challenging one. It took us quite some time to find the first cetaceans: a pod of 8-12 white-beaked dolphins. At first they were quite elusive but suddenly seemed to have found interest in us and our boat. They started to leap out of the water, come in really close, crossing underneath our boat and cruising around us. in between we saw an elusive minke whale and later on another one who let us stay with it for a little longer. In total we saw 3 minke whales in this tour! Unfortunately we started to run out of time and had to head back to the harbour. It was a lovely, even a bit short encounter with this amazing animals.

Tour at 9:00
Report from Eldey: We sailed out on very flat seas and with little wind this morning. Although the sky was a bit cloudy, the visibility was excellent, making it a great day for spotting. Barely 40 minutes into the tour, we saw the first pod of white-beaked dolphins, with around 8-10 individuals. The dolphins stayed with us for a while, resurfacing and bow-riding. Some of them were even jumping a little further away from the boat! We continued our search further and found a second pod, this time with probably at least 7 of them, swimming all around us. We also caught a quick glimpse of a minke whale in the distance before it went for a deep dive. We had a pleasant surprise at the end of the tour- another minke whale right by the harbour! This one was closer to us and we were able to see it surface several times before leaving it. Another very enjoyable morning in Faxafloi!
