Report from Eldey: We sailed out with some rain, but as it usually goes with Icelandic weather, it changed soon enough. The wind was quite harsh on the way out, but we didn't mind, we enjoyed the scenery. After an hour of sailing we spotted a pod of 7-10 white-beaked dolphins. They were playfully swimming around us and even leaping out of the sea. We spent some nice times with them and turned towards Reykjavik. On the way back we had some beautiful light play happening behind us, as it usually so happens with the setting sun.

Report from Eldey: The weather was still really nice and as the morning tour was such a beautiful one, we knew exactly were to go for our sightings. After some time we spotted our first minke whale, it was a rather small individual which seemed very interested in our boat. This was such a nice encounter as the animal kept surfacing close to our boat, even though it was fast, everyone was easily able to even identify its beautiful white bands on the flippers. After some time this individual disappeared into nowhere like it had appeared. We kept sailing further and found another 3 minke whales, all of them being much larger, so everyone got a good impression about the size of this beautiful animals. What a beautiful afternoon out in the bay!

Report from Eldey: We sailed out of the Old Harbour yet again. The weather: stable, but no sun unfortunately. The sea: quite calm. Just outside of the harbour, verifying the significance of their name, we saw 3 harbour porpoises surfacing a couple of times on our port side. We continued further and soon spotted a sub-adult minke whale that eluded us for most of the sighting. Leaving that one behind, we were off to better things and a mile further we encountered a pod of 5-7 white-beaked dolphins which were in a good mood. Bow riding, porpoising and leaping out of the water were the behaviours that we noticed. Try to be grumpy when you are looking at pod of playful dolphins... it's impossible. At the end we managed to see 2 more minke whales, one younger, one older and we finished the tour with some nice close sightings of the shiny black back and the shark like dorsal fin.
