Tour Status: RUNNING

Tour at 13:00

Reort from Eldey: A stunning day to be out on the bay, we started our tour with a sunrise and ended the tour on a sunset. Days are getting shorter and will continue to do so until the 21st December the shortest day. Once again we found or celebrity humpback whale ´Viðey´ enjoying our 1 month annaversary, yep, 18th November was the first ever encounter with this individual and we have enjoyed our time with him/her the last month, not every day but most. Today was no different, deep in the fjord of Kollafjörður in about 10m of water and about 100m from the coast viðey was feeding, traveling and sleeping on the tour today showing that he was not fussed at all about our and the other whale watching vessels presence. It was also nice to see a pod of 3-5 harbour porpoises and a variety of birds, especially all the red-throated and great northern divers.

Birds seen on todays tour include: great northern diver, red-throated diver, great cormorant, eider ducks, black-legged kittiwakes, black headed gulls, glaocous gulls, black-backed gulls, common guillemots, black guillemots.
