✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE | at 13:00

Report from Eldey: Similar to this morning, the wind was blowing into our side when leaving the harbour. With only a few dry spells, the clouds kept following us all afternoon. But that did not keep us from being all on deck and eager to spot. And we didn´t have to wait for too long. After less than an hour sail, we did spot a humpback whale. This time it was one individual, which did not seem to mind our presence while feeding on the surface. Being around us for about 40 minutes, it did show us how gracefully it can move, being such a big animal. After waving us goodbye we did spot another blow in the distance, but decided to go on a look-out for dolphins instead. And the captain was right to do so. Just before reaching the harbour, we did encounter a pod of around 10 white-beaked dolphins. And what a pod that was. Consisting of adults and calves, at least three of the youngsters decided to show off by jumping out of the water. Not just that they seemed to have a blast, with that beautifully unique encounter they also showed us a ´whale of a time´.

Report from Eldey: This morning was INCREDIBLE!! Firstly there was a break in the heavy rain and wind for us to enjoy a dry, slighty cloudy tour, it was actually quite warm too......for Iceland that is.  We journeyed out into the bay and enjoyed the fast flapping of the occasional puffin flying by, that seemed to becoming more numerous the last days and even some great skuas back fom their winter migration also. Its always wonderful to see the summer visitors returning, feel like summer is finally on its way. It wasn´t long until a blow was spotted, wait there´s another blow and another and another. It was crazy to see soooooo many humpback whales out in the bay today. We must have seen the blows of at least 6 or 7 individuals. We found one nicely feeding and decided to stop and enjoy the encounter. Soon another humpback whale joined in and we had one on each side of the boat feeding under and around us. At one time we have two feeding next to our vessel, surfacing just 10-15m from us, then a third humpback joined into. They then scattered and we sailed back to port. We could not believe the awesome morning we had and hope the afternoon will be just as thrilling.
