Report from Elding: Amazing sailing conditons with lack of wind and flat seas are rare here in Iceland so we just keep enjoying this day on evening trip. Rain was trying to destroy our good moods but we were prepared with overalls and rain jackets. It was fun to just watch all those puffins around but we were also looking for something much bigger. Finding cetaceans was more challenging but finally, after two false alarms we found very nice and friendly pod of 6 white-beaked dolphins. Once we saw dolphins, rain stopped and rest of this evening was a pure pleasure. Specially when at the end a harbour porpoise did some leaps just beforen we get back to the harbour.

Report from Elding: The weather was improving this afternoon and the sea was as calm as can be. So it only needed us to get out of the harbour to spot our first minke whale. The animal was close to the same area where we spotted them on the previous tour and we were able to stay with the animal for a while. Just when we decided to move on, it actually breached out of the water! To continue our tour, we spotted a humpback whale in the mist of the foggy sea. But soon we were distracted by a second minke whale and the humpback disappeared. After continuing into the bay, we decided to turn around again, as 'our' humpback was spotted by other boats and we finally got to enjoy the animal for quite a while, going on deep dives with the fluke high out of the water. Being close to the harbour aleady we arrived back a little early, but satisfied, even spotting one shy harbour porpoise on the way back.

Report from Elding: Heavy clouds were hanging above bay and it was raining a bit but mirror flat seas recompensed lack of sunshine. On our way out, next to island Engey, we were sailing in company of two harbour porpoises. There were also northern gannets, huge sea birds around and looking at them we noticed a minke whale right next to Akurey island! It was a big individual feeding close to shore and was not alone, there were two more minkes around. It was already a surprise to find a whale so close to Reykjavik so watching three minke whales made our day. Minkes weren't easiest to watch as they were moving fast so soon we headed further. Our next stop was with 12 white-beaked dolphins enjoying our company and swimming slowly by our side, we turned off engines and decided to relax with sounds of dolphins blows. And it was just first hour of our trip! Before we were back we seen some more harbour porpoises, made another attempt to watch minke whale and of course we have seen numerous cute little puffins.
