Report from Hafsulan: Our last tour of the day was preceed by calm seas and a beautiful sun shinning. We sailied around Faxafloi and we covered a great area in our pursue for cetaceans. We got to see some glimpses of a minke whale and a small pod of 3-4 harbour porpoises. Nonetheless, the sightings were so short that we decided to offer complimentary tickets to our passengers, hoping that next time our beloved animals will stick a bit mor with us.

Report from Hafsulan: The sun kept disappearing, but the weather was still perfect for whale watching: a little breezy, not too warm but also not too cold and most importantly, no rain. With that we headed out into Faxafloi bay on our search for whales. Like in the previous tour we spotted a minke whale first, which we followed for a while, but then decided to follow a second one instead. After that we decided to check out a pod of 4-5 white-beaked dolphins, which was spotted by another boat. Those animals played quite a few tricks on us and kept disappearing infront of the boat, just to resurface in the back of the boat. We had them around us for quite a while, before we had to head back into the harbour for our last tour of the day.

Report from Hafsulan: It has been a record of good weather in Faxafloi and we enjoyed another wonderful day in the sea. Mirror-like water, light breeze and great visibility were perfect conditions for our morning tours. We encountered three different species in total: 3 minke whales, 5-6 white-beaked dolphins and 4-5 harbour porpoises in total. All of them saw signs of feeding behaviour and we had a great time following them. Birdlife was quite abundant as well so we couldn't ask for anything else.

Bird species seen today include: eider duck, black guillemot, common guillemot, razorbil, atlantic puffin, northern gannet, black-legged kittiwake, arctic skua, great skua, northern fulmar, herring gull, great black-backed gull, lesser black-backed gull, manx shearwater.
We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today at 9:00, 13:00 and 17:00. There might always be some movement out on the bay. If you are prone to seasickness we have some seasickness tablets free of charge at our ticket office. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land, it is also quite wet today.
