Report from Eldey: The wind raised up a bit along this ride. A bigger swell sprinkled with some light rain, provided our guests the proper Icelandic experience. There was a lot of bird activity through the course of the tour, where our passengers were able to enjoy plenty of Northern gannets and northern fulmars, two of the most beautiful and interesting birds. Unfortunately, apart from an elusive minke whale, there were no proper sightings during this trip. These creatures are similar to us in many ways. They also have different moods and according to what they are up to, sometimes they are easier to spot than others. So, though tours like this are rare, is something that we have no control over. Nevertheless, we provided all our passengers the chance to come back again on another whale watching tour with us, for free. Hope to see them all again soon!

Report from Eldey: We sailed out this cloudy morning with hopes of seeing wildlife and wildlife we saw. Even though the ride was a bit bumpy and we sailed for an hour and a half, we finally spotted a minke whale, just as I was playing humpback sounds on the sound system. Lucky coincidence? Probably. A welcome one? Definitely. This whale was very relaxed and at one point it changed direction and swam towards the boat, obviously curious about us. We managed to have a nice look at this animal and then it was time to head back home. On the way back, as on the way out we were accompanied by 2 small pods of harbour porpoises, making it in total a minimum of 6-7 individual count for this species. Always a lovely bonus on our tours , as are the rainbow and the dozen of plunge-diving northern gannets.

Good morning! We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. The wind is not that high but the sea might be a little bumpy out there. If you are prone to getting sea sick, we do have sea sickness tablets available free of charge at the office and on board.
