Report from Eldey: Finally Iceland gave us a truce to set our course to Faxaflói again. Weather was delicious, the sun joined us for most part of the trip, the ocean was calm with some gentle waves, visibility was very good out of the lack of white caps... quite a beautiful day to enjoy all the wonder that this bay has to offer. As the journey proggressed we could start seeing the first signs of life: cormorant flying everywhere, black guillemots sittinng at the surface even some great northern divers were joining the expedition. Eventually our paths crossed with a small group of harbour porpoises that were not willing to approach the boat, and they gracefully swam towards Engey, leaving our boat behind. Unfortunately that was the only encounter with cetaceans for today, so a complimentary ticket were issued to everybody with the adventurous will to join us once again.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today. There could be some movement out on the bay today after the bad weather that we have been having for the past days, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. Make sure to dress warmly and make use of our warm overalls as it is always colder on sea than on land. For more information contact us by email elding@elding.is or by phone +354 519 5000.
