Report from Eldey: The night was crispy cold, partly cloudy skies with some wind as we sailed out on the northern lights hunt tonight. Chasing this natural phenomena of Aurora Borealis requires a lot of patience, in other words waiting outside with our eyes glued to the sky, and therefore we provided our passengers overalls to keep everyone warm and comfortable. The forecast was good and the clouds were breaking apart more as the tour went on, but even through our cameras we could not spot any northern lights activity. We were giving it time, our passengers warming up in-between with hot chocolates at our cafeteria, but no lights were forming in the sky. Northern lights are a result of complex events and chemical reactions in the space as well as in the atmosphere. Therefore even the most precise predictions can sometimes let us down and not be fully accurate as it seemed to be the case tonight. We still want our passengers to see northern lights and therefore gave everyone a complimentary ticket allowing to join us on another northern lights cruise for free within the next two years.
