 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00

Report from Eldey: Beautiful sunny afternoon with almost no wind. It was a little bit windy but with the sun and amazing surroundings it was a nice day to be outside. We sailed out in to the bay and found big flocks of seabirds that was flying around. After one and a half hour our well trained captain spotted a minke whale just in front of us! It surfaced once more really close before taking a dive. After a couple of minutes we spotted the whale again and you could see that it was in hurry probably traveling or following food. It toke a deeper dive and then we waited with patient and everyone was searching the surface for any signs of the whale. After a while we needed to head back to Reykjavik so we started slowly sail back and of course still searching for the whale. But with no more luck for the rest of the tour. Since the encounter was short and we want to make sure everyone on the boat get a chance to see the whale we offered all our passengers to come with us again for free to try their luck within the next two years.

 TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 09:00

Report from Eldey: Not all of our morning tours are the same as not always we really have a chance to watch sun rising above Reykjavik. Today sky was clear and when we were leaving harbour we had this lovely scenery with morning light painting sky and mountain in pink. There was still a little bit of wind, which was coming down during the tour, and our boat Eldey was rocking slowly on the waves while we were exploring Faxafloi. Birds were very active indicating that water was full of fish and carefully we were searching for signs of cetaceans. Unfortunately we didn't manage to find any this time. Hopefully next departures will be more lucky and our passengers will join as again with complimentary tickets, allowing them to take part in another whale watching tour with Elding in a period of two years.

We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today for the tour at 9:00.
