Report from Eldey: A successful Aurora hunt tonight. The forecast was already promising with mostly clear skies  and a high northern lights activity level. It was a little windy but not too cold -the complimentary overalls were not even needed for most passengers. The moon was shining with the planet Venus next to it, small but bright. We had barely left the harbour when a green arch was already forming in the sky. Usually it takes some patience and persistence, in other words waiting around for a good moment, but not tonight! The lights were bright but a little blurry because of a very thin layer of high clouds. Eventually the high clouds cleared up more revealing some stars as well. We got to observe a green double arch streching across the sky, then forming bigger patches, also visibly moving and changing shape. The lights stayed on for almost the entire duration of the cruise. A lucky night!
