✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 10:00

Report from Elding II: There are days that put you through some challenge just to give you a wonderful gift at the end. And today seemed like this. The start of the tour was sunny but quite windy. For at least half and hour the vast experience of our captain helped us getting through some strong wind gusts. But it seems these winds were shaking the water, bringing food close to the surface. And that was key for this tour, to attract our incredible whales close to the surface. The first encounter we had was a shy minke whale that didn’t want to join us for long, but after that… HUMPBACKS! In an area of 2-3 square miles we had at least 7 humpbacks. The first couple we saw were merely 100 meters away from us, swimming together. After that, a lonely humpback came less that 50 meters away, giving us an excellent close up of its majestic body. And after, the first couple showed up again, now throwing their powerful tails up in the air, making the delights of everyone on board. Alongside them, massive flocks of birds (dive bombing gannets, puffins, all kinds of seagulls) were eating the spills of the whale’s meal. Amazing tour that will stay in the retina of our passengers for a long time for sure!
