✔ TOUR ON SCHEDULE | 13:00

Report from Elding: Clouds filled with rain surely did not stop us this afternoon – and with basically no wind, it was still pleasant to be out. And am I glad we went. This tour was a feeding frenzy spectacle!! We sailed nearly an hour when we began to spot more and more whales. At least 6 humpback whales and 10 or more minke whales overall in the same area, feeding amongst thousands of birds. Three humpback whales were the absolute stars! They were lunge feeding and even bubble feeding on a huge school of fish, so large we could see it from the water. As the whales came closer to the surface, fish jumped out of the water trying to escape the widely opened mouths of the humpbacks. Their throats expanded taking in huge amounts of food, their blows were so audible and best of all was that we could experience this all with the engines turned off. Another best of the best tour.

Report from Elding: What an amazing morning we had today. The entire bay flat calm, the only challenge we faced was the rain. We wrapped up warm and stayed under the shelter where and when we could. After about 45 minutes we found a minke whale, surfacing so calmly we were able to get many photographs of it. Then after another 10 minutes we were in the mecca of whales. At least 3 humpback whales, one individual very curious and circled the boat, rolling to look up at the amazed passengers and then continued. Minke whales popping up EVERYWHERE!! It was impossible to count, at least 20-30 and the bird life was also diverse and abundant. The whole morning was just incredible.
