Report from Elding: The afternoon was a little windier and at the beginning the whales were quite tricky, but by the end of our tour we had had some great sightings! We started off seeing only the blow of a humpback whale every few minutes in a different location but never really showing its body. While looking around for it, however, we spotted another humpback whale that was a great sight. It kept going for deep dives, meaning it stayed underwater for a while but lifted it's fluke constantly. We wanted to show our passengers more species and so moved on after around 40 minutes. On our way we encountered 3 super cute harbour porpoises and then found a large flock of birds, diving into the water in a fascinating technique. With these birds were 2 minke whales that were feeding on the same fish as the birds. Overall a successful trip, calm seas and sunshine.

Report from Elding: What a morning!! If someone was not super awake after this, then nothing will wake them. All the animals were in a super active mood today, starting with the pod of around 20 white-beaked dolphins that was chasing fish by trapping them inside their pod, circling them and then swimming right through the circle. Such a smart strategy! But then two humpback whales became the absolute stars of the tour. They breached, and breached, and breached.. Once even within just meters of our bow! That together with minke whales where the eye went made for an incredible and absolutely memorable, best-of whale watching trip.

Birds seen on today’s tours include: atlantic puffin, arctic tern, manx shearwater, common guillemot, razorbill, arctic skua, northern gannet, kittiwake, black-backed gull, northern fulmar, eider duck.
We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today for the tour at 09:00 and 13:00. There is always a chance of a little movement out on sea, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office.
