Report from Elding: Sea was calmer than in the morning and only on the way out we could feel some movement. Public holiday attracted many locals and we had almost full boat. We took direction towards area where we found whales this morning and after an hour of sailing we had first sighting. Two harbour porpoises swam by our boat and later we spent good time following a minke whale, a relaxed individual which was coming to the surface frequently. During that encounter we got a call that white-beaked dolphins were seen close by and we went to check that out. When arriving, we were seeing dorsal fins and splashes but once at spot, dolphins were gone. We waited a little bit but this time dolphins were not interested in ‘human watching’. Beside minke whale and dolphins, another highlight of this trip was big amount of pufflings (puffin’s chicks) on the sea – we saw more ‘babies’ than adult birds.

Report from Elding: We sailed out this morning accompanied with only a slight breeze. While we started in super calm waters, it got a bit more wavy further out, but nothing much. Everything was very quiet for the first hour until we found the area to be. A pod of 6 white-beaked dolphins greeted us with some jumps and led us to a huge flock of birds that were feeding. Inbetween were 2 minke whales and 2 harbour porpoises. All were feeding and thus coming to the surface frequently, really easy to watch and follow. Definitely a perfect start into the day and week.

Birds seen on today's tours include: atlantic puffin, northern gannet, northern fulmar, manx shearwater, arctic tern, black-backed gull, common guillemot, razorbill, eider duck.
We are sailing from the Old Harbour in Reykjavík today for the tour at 09:00 and 13:00. There could be some movement out on the bay today, so if your are prone to sea sickness we have sea sickness tablets available at our ticket office. At this time we have to ask that all our guests and staff ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser on a regular basis is advised, as well as wearing a face mask when keeping a 2 metre distance from others is not possible. Masks are available for purchase in our ticket office and hand sanitiser stations are located in high traffic areas.
