Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

COVID-19: Keep in mind that passengers and crew are asked to ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser is advised. Masks are mandatory in areas where keeping 1 meter distance from others is not possible. 

Report from Eldey: When we sailed out of the harbour, the bay looked like a lake: there was almost no wind and very low waves. Out at sea there was a bit more swell and we had some light rain, but our overalls and blankets kept us warm. The sky was quite foggy today which made it challenging to see far distances, but the light conditions were great to see the dark dorsal fins of cetaceans so we sailed to the spot where we saw the humpback yesterday. We spotted two or three harbour porpoises 200 meter from the boat, but they disappeared quickly. There were plenty of birds flying in the area, some scattered and by themselves, others in large flocks. Among the bird species were northern fulmars, common guillemots and razorbills, a northern gannet, and many different sea gulls. While it was really nice to see the birds at sea, we were hoping to find a whale or a dolphin. Unfortunately, we didn´t find any on this tour but we hope to see our passengers again because we gave everyone a complimentary ticket to have the chance to come on a new tour and see some bigger cetaceans.
