NORTHERN LIGHT CRUISE | 21:00

Report from Eldey: With a kp index on 3, a perfectly clear sky and a moonless night we were quite optimistic for this first Northern Light Cruise of the year. Reality surpassed our expectations with green lights visible in the sky only a few minutes after we left the harbour. We sailed behind the islands near Reykjavik and stayed there facing mountain Esja for a while admiring those bright and green northern lights. There were several arches, sometimes forming big "s". Not surprising that in chinese legends it is associated with dragons. It was cold tonight but our passengers wanted to stay outside to admire the amazing show. We enjoyed it for an hour and a half before they started fading a bit. They were still visible during the way back as well as a wonderful sky full of stars. A good start of the year with this unforgettable night.
