CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: We had a really nice day out at sea, with excellent visibility and not too much wind. Sailing out to the area where we saw the whale yesterday, we admired the snow-covered mountains and low sunlight. Upon reaching the spot, we saw a blow in the distance - there was a humpback whale again! When we came closer, the whale tail lobbed two times and gave us quite the show. The surfacing behaviour of the whale was a bit unpredictable, sometimes coming up quite far away after 5-minute dives, and sometimes surprising us within 100 meters of the boat. With the memory of this nice encounter we sailed back to Reykjavík, but the sea still had more in store for us: we spotted 5 or 6 very playful white-beaked dolphins. The dolphins rode the bow of our boat and some individuals even made multiple inverted leaps. A very spectacular ending to a great trip.

Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.
