Report from Eldey: The aurora forecast predicted a moderately high kp-index, so we were excited to go out on our northern lights cruise tonight. The evening started overcast but clouds disappeared slowly but surely to reveal a very clear sky full of stars and an almost full moon. Beautiful constellations as the Gemini, Lynx, Ursa Minor, Orion and Perseo could be seen. We waited for the aurora borealis to appear while we drank northern lights punches and had Icelandic waffles, or simply enjoyed the calm boatride or each others´ company. However, the geomagnetic activity was unfortunately not as high as expected so the green lights that we wanted to see did not show up tonight. We therefore offered everyone a complimentary ticket to join us on another northern lights cruise within the next two years.
