NORTHERN LIGHT CRUISE | 21:00

Report from Eldey: Tonight, the forecast announced a kp index on 2, which is a bit low, and a sky with clouds but also some gaps. So we went out, trying to take our chance to see the northern lights. In the beginning there was many stars visible in the sky making the night quite beautiful. The activity seemed to be low because we were not able to see any green. When we arrived closer to the mountain Esja, we started to see a faded arch of northern lights just above low clouds. Unfortunately the sky got quickly covered with clouds and it was difficult to observe with naked eyes. The lights were visible the rest of the night through the camera, but only visible episodically with our eyes and always quite weak. We even had some snow and many passengers preferred to come inside during the way back to enjoy a waffle and a hot chocolate. We gave complimentary tickets to our passengers hoping that next time they will witness stronger northern lights.
