NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 21:00

Report from Eldey: The forecast for tonight was incredible: a kp of 7 out of 9 is the highest aurora activity we have had in 2022. We sailed out with high expectations as we saw the magnetic observatory in Leirvogur was showing a lot of activity. However, the clouds had a different scenario in mind, and they masked almost the whole sky. Through the camera, we were able to see green lights above and around mount Esja, but to the naked eye these were invisible. Sometimes the green light even shone through the high clouds above us (visible in the camera only), so frustratingly the whole sky was probably filled with northern lights! We unfortunately did not get the opportunity to see them tonight because of the clouds, so we invited all our passengers to come on another tour with us with complimentary tickets.
