NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE | 22:00

Report from Eldey: There was a cold, strong wind blowing over Faxaflói bay tonight but we were excited to sail away from the city lights of Reykjavík in search for the northern lights despite the rocky sea. Except for some low clouds, the sky was completely clear and we could see the stars shining brightly above our heads. We didn't have to wait long until we could see something else starting to appear in the sky: vibrant green northern lights were visible above mount Esja. The lights grew stronger and took on different shapes as we braved the cold winds and admired the auroras. The lights faded after some time and we happily went into the saloons to warm up, but then the auroras reappeared! This time, they started as an arch, gradually becoming bright green and shifting their shape, and for a moment even dancing in the sky. What an unforgettable and adventurous night!
