Today we will be operating on Þruma RIB for our 10:00 and 14:00 Premium Whale tours and on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 10:00, 13:00 and 17:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land

COVID-19: Keep in mind that passengers and crew are asked to ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser is advised. Masks are not mandatory but are recommended in areas where keeping distance from others is not possible.

Report from Elding: Today we had glorious sunshine as we set off for our morning adventure. We enjoyed the sunshine and cool wind, making the most of the calm sea. We saw a humpback whale in the distance and followed. It was a very calm individual swimming closely to us, its blow refracted the light making a rainblow! We enjoyed its company for a little longer before heading back. We were nearly back when we were surprised by a breach in the distance!

Report from Eldey: What an adventure we had today! We left still blessed with sunshine and nice calm seas - perfect whale watching conditions. As we ventured out we came across a humpback whale! This was a very tricky individual to follow, with a short surface sequence and long dives. After a few fluke dives we decided to head on and see what else we could find. As we head on, we find another humpback whale, a very calm individual that stayed with us for a few moments before heading off. We continued on our journey and saw another blow in the distance, and then another one, and another one! As we got closer it seemed we were surrounded by humpback whales. One was very close and gave every one a photo op! We lost track of time with so many animals around and had to head back to harbour. In the sunset a few more showed us their flukes, a beautiful end to a beautiful day.

Report from Elding: in our tour, we went out to the same area we saw at least 2 humpback whales in the morning. After about 45 minutes since we left the harbour, a very talented passenger spotted a blow in the distance. When we were going for it, we saw another blow closer to us. It was a very calm humpback whale, that was logging, like it was resting on the surface, a behaviour that I have never seen a humpback doing. We left this one in peace when we saw it started to take deeper dives and it didn't take longer to spot another blow. This other humpback whale was more active and also taking deeper dives but was coming to the surface after 2-3 minutes, in which was quite impressive for this one, because it showed its fluke every time it went underwater. When we were heading back to Reykjavik, the passengers and me were quite happy to spot another blow in the distance, but specially to see a pod of 5-6 white-beaked dolphins too. They were a bit elusive because we had another boat around, so we didn't stay too long with them. Still, it was amazing to see so many things going on in the bay today.
