Tour at 13:00

Report from Hafsúlan: We sailed out from the old harbour in Reykjavik with clear skies and a gust of north-easterly wind. After only about 30 minutes sailing from the harbour we came upon a pod of White-Beaked Dolphins! There were about 5-7 dolphins most likely feeding and playing in the swell. We saw them very well up close and one even swam just beneath the surface only a few meters from the boat. We stayed with them for most of the tour and they were quite content to let us watch them surfing, bow-riding and leaping. On the way back we sailed with the wind into the beautiful sunset behind the mountains of the Reykjanes peninsula.

Birds seen on today's tour: Kittiwakes, Razorbills, Common Eider duck, Cormorant, Glaucous Gull, Lesser Black-Backed Gull.
