Report from Eldey: We left the harbour on a cloudy night but with a kp index on 4 we hoped that some gaps would let appear green lights in the sky. The moon above Esja was pretty even if often hidden by the clouds. A few stars were appearing here and there so we started to hope. We began to see northern lights through the clouds, a bit faded for our eyes but clearly visible with on the pictures. We saw those lights increasing and decreasing constantly, never reaching a bright green colour. We started to head back when an arch appeared behind and above us. This arch was brighter than the rest but unfortunately disappeared after a few seconds. Even though we saw the northern lights, we decided to give a complimentary ticket to our passengers to give them the chance to see them in better sky conditions next time.
