CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 09:00
Report from Eldey: As we left Reykjavik it started raining quite a lot and it looked like we would have a wet and foggy tour. However the further we sailed out the less rain and we enjoyed the morning light, and towards the end of the tour a lot of sunshine. After an hour of sailing we saw a big flock of birds and a blow! This whale proved tricky and didn't resurface, because of its elusive behaviour we can make an educated guess that it was a minke whale - however we don't know for sure. As we continued sailing, we saw another elusive minke whale but then later on found a pod of 4 jumping white beaked dolphins. They were quite close to us and swimming around the boat. In the same spot where the friendly dolphins were we got a clearer view of more minke whales! It seemed we found a good spot and saw 4 more. We really did have all four seasons in a day and returned to harbour, this time with blue skies.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: What an adventure we had this afternoon! We sailed out in sunshine and saw a big cloud looming on the horizon. After about an hour sailing we headed directly into the rain and maybe a little hail(?) and found some minke whales! Two were quite close and one further in the distance. As we were watching the minke whales, we also were surprised by 3 harbour porpoises! They were super cute and came up 3x before continuing on their hunt for food. After a moment or two we decided to head on, out of the rain and further into the bay. After some further sailing we saw 2 white beaked dolphins and then in the same moment the blows of 2 humpback whales! It was our beloved Neila and Mariupol again. We enjoyed their company and saw a few fluke dives and as we were waiting for them to resurface the 4 more dolphins came towards us. After we were joined by more boats we headed back to harbour to give these animals some space. It was four seasons and four species in one day!
