Report from Eldey: With a starry sky above us we sailed into Faxaflói on a chase for the northern lights. On our way towards the sheltered waters around Viðey, we could already see a faint arch filling part of the sky on our portside. The lights varied in strength, sometimes fading and sometimes strengthening. As the auroras stayed around for the whole cruise, we had plenty of time for our eyes to adjust to the darkness and to get familiar with the right camera settings to capture the green in the sky.
