Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

COVID-19: Keep in mind that passengers and crew are asked to ensure their own hygiene and safety at all times. Washing hands thoroughly with soap and using a hand sanitiser is advised.  

Report from Eldey: The conditions at the start of the tour were fantastic today; we had a very calm sea and little wind. Following close sightings to land the last few days we of course had to start here in the hope the whales had stuck around. We investigated for a while but unfortunately didn't see anything. We did get amazing views of the landscape though and the snow covered mountains. After a bit we moved further out to see if further out in the bay we could find anything. As we got further out the wind began to pick up making it  colder. We then heard whispers from another boat of blows and as we got closer to them we spotted a few blows. We got a nice whale salad! We had a humpback whale and a minke whale. However, both decided to behave like minke whales. We got to see a couple of surfaces from the humpback and then the same from the minke whale. Both whales were elusive and hard to track. Time was now against us and we had to head back to Reykjavik. Therefore, we wanted to offer all passengers complimentary tickets so they can come back again in the future and hopefully have more success at seeing cetaceans.
