Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00

Report from Eldey: What a great tour! It was a nice and warm 1 degree celsius today but very cloudy. Luckily, for the vast majority of the tour the rain held off and even when it did rain it was very light. We sailed around for a bit to start the tour enjoying the beautiful views of the Snæfellsnes peninsula, we had a great view of a snowy Mount Esja. Then in the shadow of Mount Esja we spotted a humpback whale! This was a sensational sighting. We got to spend a long time with the individual. It surfaced many times and then went down for many deep dives showing the beautiful fluke. Thankfully, the dives didn't last too long and we got regular visits from the whale. Twice this individual popped up very close to our bow and surfaced a few times. By being so close we got to appreciate how big this individual was. It was so cool to get to see a humpback whale so close! We then ended to tour by visiting the Imagine Peace Tower and even got to see a few seals very near to here too. What a day!
