Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

Report from Eldey: Condition were perfect for whale watching this afternoon. We had clear blue sky and amazing views on the snowy mountains and a calm flat sea with a good visibility. After maybe half an hour looking one of our passengers pointed on the side, thinking that she saw a whale. We stopped and after a few minutes the blow and the back of a humpback whale appeared a few hundred meters away from us. We went closer and recognize Flak, once again feeding in the area. This humpback was going for short dives and changing directions a lot, showing its tail almost every time it was going for a dive so it was a great sighting. After a while more boats arrived and we decided to give this nice whale some space. We went further out trying to find some other species. We only found sea birds and great landscape. We went back to find Flak the humpback. There was also a grey seal that was popping its head out of the water, seemingly curious about our presence. The seal had an interaction with a sea bird, maybe trying to catch the bird or stealing the fish from the bird. This bird left angry squawking at the seal. It went for a dive when we arrived and reappeared a few minute later close in a spectacular way, breaching, leaping out of the water almost completely, close to the boat!! Incredible! After this the animal was calm again, going for a few fluke dives, one time next to the sun glare. We left and came back home with a smile on our face.
