Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: The sunlight over the bay and low wind conditions made the below freezing air temperature much more bearable during today's tour and we had an excellent visibility over the whole bay. We quickly found the humpback whale that we have named Flak, who was feeding in an area full of seabirds and probably fish. We could enjoy this individual often as it came regularly to the surface, and sometimes even surprised us right next to our boat! After some time we left the humpback and we found one of their much smaller relatives: harbour porpoises! To our surprise, porpoises started appearing all around us; there may have been 8-15 individuals swimming in two different groups, moving fast through the water. With the cold air, we could even see their tiny blows, which was funny to compare to the gigantic blow of the much larger humpback whale from earlier. We sailed back with the sun highlighting the beautiful landscape around us and made one quick stop at the humpback whale to finish off the tour - and what a finish Flak gave us! He came within five meters of us and surfaced there for a few minutes before showing us the fluke from incredibly close - absolutely unforgettable.
