Tonight we are expecting an aurora activity of 1/9, N 6 m/s and 0°C. Currently the moon is Waxing Crescent and 59% illuminated. Clear skies are forecasted in the area.

Report from Eldey: With a clear sky but a relatively low kp-index tonight, we were curious what the night would bring us during our northern lights tour. Although there was almost no activity on the magnetic observatory, we could see an arch of auroras early on in the tour. The arch started out faintly, mainly visible through our cameras, and at some point it even disappeared. However, a little while later a bright green hue started appearing from behind mount Esja and slowly broadened into the sky. The lights were moving a bit and then turned into a beautiful double arch. After this magical show the northern lights calmed down a bit and remained in a single arch until it was time to go back to Reykjavik harbour.
