NORTHERN LIGHTS CRUISE I 22:00

Report from Hafsula: Tonight we sailed out with icy winds and little swell on the hunt for the northern lights. They get their name from two Greek gods, Aurora - the goddess of dawn and Boreas - the god of the winter winds. Boreas was definitely active tonight! The kp forecast was a 2 which is fairly low but we have sailed out on lower and still had an amazing night. There were a few clouds but still very big gaps to see Northern lights through. After over an hour, our patience was rewarded and a very faint light appeared. It slowly grew strong enough for us to see it with the naked eye and stayed above Esja for a bit. We enjoyed it for as long as we could but eventually time ran out and we sailed back towards the harbour.
