 Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey and Hafsúla for the 09:00 and 10:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

Report from Eldey: We sailed out today under a grey gloomy sky. There was some swell but we set off on our adventure! As we headed out suddenly a small pod of 5 white beaked dolphins appeared directly in front of our boat Eldey. It was a brief visit but they came very close and we could see their white marking through the water. Just as quickly as they appeared they vanished again. We continued onto our adventure and spotted a humpback whale in the distance. We saw a fluke dive and then waited patiently for it to re-appear but it did not. Then as we went further we had a surprise minke whale visit, really close to the boat! However like our humpback it too vanished, so we continued on. Our dolphins came back to join us for a quick hello, and then we found another humpback whale which kindly showed us its fluke. Sadly however our time ran out and we had to head back to harbour. We decided to hand out complimentary tickets, as a lot of the encounters were very short lived and we wanted to give everyone a chance to be able to have a proper look at our beautiful bay.

Report from Elding : It was under overcast sky that we started our sail out today. We first decided to take a look around the puffin islands to show this lovely sea bird to some eager passengers to see them. We have seen a range of cetaceans here recently so we wanted to check it out. We then started to head out toward the open sea to look for some cetaceans. The sea was a bit rough today. We unfortunately also had a couple sea sick passengers during this tour. After our 3 hours navigation we unfortunately did not encounter any cetaceans. So, we then gave complimentary tickets to our passengers to hopefully come back in the next days and experience the beauty of these marine mammals.
