Tour at 13:00
Report from Hafsúlan: The sky was blue and winds were calm as we sailed out of the harbour this afternoon. It was a very clear day so you could really enjoy the amazing scenery around the Faxaflói bay on the way out. After about 40 minutes we found tiny minke whale which at first we thought was a young one. It turned out however that this whale has been seen every single year since 2008 and even has a name, Bambi! Thanks to our researchers for identifying this very small whale. Later on we found a couple of harbour porpoises and then we noticed a flock of birds. As we approached the birds a minke whale surfaced again, this time a larger one. It came very close to the boat! Before heading back we found white beaked dolphins and on the way to Reykjavík we stumbled upon a few harbour porpoises again. A very good and lively tour in fantastic (but cold) weather!
