Today we will be operating on Þruma RIB for our 10:00 Premium Whale tour and on our lovely vessel Eldey and Elding  for the 09:00, 10:00, 13:00, 14:00, 17:00 and 20:30 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

Report from Elding: In the harbour it looked like beautiful calm seas with little wind, when we sailed out to the bay however we were met with fierce Northern winds. These was not a huge swell but a bit of chop, really giving us a sense of adventure and making us excited to see what was in the bay today. On the way out we saw 2 elusive minke whales, one appeared and disappeared and one coming up a few times once quite close to us. We continued our journey and quickly noticed more and more bird activity. Then suddenly we were surrounded by 4 humpback whales. One was on our left, one on our right and two ahead of us. The boat was turning a bit but we could pretty much pic a direction and see a whale. The one slighty on our right hand side was also rolling and showed us its belly and pectoral fins. It was quite a special moment so we enjoyed as long as we could before having to start our journey back to the harbour.

Report from Eldey: Today we had strong northernly wind as we started our sail in Faxafloi bay. We warned all of our passengers in advance of the state of the sea and the strong winds before the tour and advised to take a sea sickness pill for anyone sensitive to the movement of the sea. As we sailed out we could observe Mount Esja and also the Reykjanes peninsula where the earhquakes have been happening all night and day .. Maybe a sign of a future new eruption ? We hope so, so we can see this cool phenomenon ! After some time of navigating one of our other boat spotted a blow ! We got closer and gpt to see first a minke whale, passing us by really fast, and then 3 humpback whales together in the same area. Some of the humpback whales were feeding and we got to observe them really close rolling and lunge feeding. 2 of them had this amazing behavior right before our eyes. We stayed with the animals for a while and had really good sights before we headed back toward the harbour. A windy and choppy sea, but amazing sightings !

Report from Eldey: As we left Reykjavik harbour it was slightly cloudy with strong winds coming from the north. The kept us on our feet through out the tour on an already rocky sea. It took a while until we saw any animal activity and it began with birds hovering around us in small flocks. As we sailed on the sun came out giving us some warmth on a cold and windy day. Eventually we saw one blow in the distance with another one following close by. As we got closer we could distinguish 2 humpback whales feeding. We had plenty of time to drift close by as they where taking turn popping up around us. After some time we saw another humpback individual joining in on the feeding. We got to see one turning around in the water showing off it's pectoral fins and another defecating in the distance. Suddenly an elusive minke whale surfaced close by, but it disappeared as quickly as it appeared. Seabirds where always close by, helping us spot where the humpbacks where. We stayed as long as we could as the sea was rocking Eldey, but eventually it was time to turn back to Reykjavik.

Report from Eldey: We started the tour with a windy but sunny beautiful evening. As we headed out looking for any kind of activity on the surface, we could experience the cold northern wind while looking at all the birds that were around the bay. Some time later, we spotted a blow and then another one! We were able to see two different humpback whales for some time. One of them got really close to the boat as well! We could also see two minke whales passing by very quickly. After that, we headed back with an amazing evening light.
