Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey  for the 10:00,14:00 and 19:00 Classic Whale Watching tours. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

Report from Eldey: beautiful weather today at the start of the tour, with a bright sun and very little wind. However, as the time passed and as we ventured further offshore, the wind started picking up and the waves got larger and larger, rendering the trip uncomfortable for a few people and creating challenging spotting conditions. When we reached the area where we generally find our whales, we found a minke whale, an elusive individual which appeared briefly at the surface only one time. As we didn't manage to find it again we decided to move northward, searching for more animals. And one animal we did find, a lone white-beaked dolphin. This guy was actually quite playful and curious, as it bow rid the waves generated by our ship and ventured below the hull. Unfortunately, as it was staying so much time under our ship it was quite hard to see it, and not so many people managed to get a good sight of it. Given that the sightings were quite poor, this ended up being a complimentary ticket trip, and to the passengers it was given the opportunity to join one of our future cruises for free.

Report form Eldey: We sailed out in the rough and windy bay, hoping for the best. After several miles, we finally found several active spots full of Northern gannets. But their presence wasn't enough to guide us to any sighting. We headed back knowing it will be a complimentary tour, giving a chance for everyone to come back.

Report from Eldey: the sea was still quite rough as we started this midnight tour in beautiful sunshine. We warned all passengers before the tour of course, both at the ticket office and also at boarding so that every person sensitive to the movement of the sea would take a sea sickness tablet. Good thing that animals do not mind weather and always need to come up to breathe. Off we went under the sun, looking for cetaceans. On the way, we passed through some of the areas where we have seen cetaceans in the previous tours, and we also could admire the beautiful landscapes around the bay. We noticed 2 cute little harbour porpoises that decided to show up for us quite close to us, very chilled, quite rare for this species. We then continued, sailing around the area looking for more animals. Unfortunately we did not see anything else, not a lucky tour so we offered our passengers some complimentary tickets in the hope that they will come back soon to enjoy hopefully sightings of more wildlife in the bay.
