Report fron Hafsúlan: We were hoping to find the same individual from the morning tour so we sailed through the area and unfortunately it wasn´t not there still so we sailed further to the North West and found loads of Gannets diving, we know we would find something in this area and we did. A pod of 5-10 White beaked Dolphins with calves but they were too busy chasing fish so we mainly saw splashes until they dived down and vanished but that was ok because we saw a Minke Whale but it was quite elusive, we waited patiently for awhile and saw it surface 4 more times before like the dolphins it went for a deep dive. Not the best animals to show but it was very interesting watching their behaviours and how they moved.
Tour at 09:00 Report from Hafsúlan: What an incredible tour! We sailed out in a gray weather this Friday morning with our hopes high to find whales. We were not disappointed! We spotted two minke whales slowly surfacing together. They were both coming up on each side of the boat, very close to us so all of us could take a look at these beautiful animals. One of them swam away from us after a while but the other one was being very curious about the boats! This was absolutely amazing sighting as we had this lovely minke whale interacting with the boats. There are no words to describe this encounter with the minke, absolutely amazing

Report from Elding: Due to the amount of passangers this morning we took two boats out. We started the tour in ok weather but it rained on and off throughout. This was ok because we had the most incredible encounter from a Minke Whale. The Interactive Minke which came to say hello to all the passangers on all of the whale watching boats, one by one it was breath taking to watch. To see this type of behaviour in a country that still hunts whales was very special. A flagship individual to help protect this species here in Faxaflói Bay.
Birds seen on totays tours include; Gannets, Fulmars, Kittiwakes, Black-backed Gulls, Cormorants and Eider Ducks.
Please stay posted for pictures and video of this mornings tour.
