Today both premium tours have been cancelled as well as the 09:00 Classic Whale watching tour. We will be going out on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress appropriately for the tours as it is always colder on sea than on land.

Report from Eldey: We sailed out this afternoon onto a gloomy bay with moderate swell. As we sailed out there were a few green faces but we tried to keep the boat as steady as possible and hopefully cheer them up with some whale or dolphin sightings. After about an hour of sailing we spotted 2 white beaked dolphins. These swam directly towards us and we could see them through the water, they went under the boat and then resurfaced on our right. They didn't stay with us very long however so we decided to head on and search for something else. Not long after we spotted another pod of 3 dolphins, these were a little shy but eventually came a bit closer. We watched them for a bit but as we were pressed for time we headed back into the direction of Reykjavik. On the way back we saw 3 harbour porpoises and as we were going with the swell it was much more pleasant. In the end we handed out complimentary tickets as both sightings were very short lived and we wanted to give everyone the chance to come back.
