Report from Eldey: With a Kp1 and a sky on the cloudy side but still full of gaps with some stars visible we tried our best to find northern lights. And we did find very faded lights just above Esja visible through our cameras and slightly through our eyes for the most experimented of us. They looked like a little arch, sometimes two and gradually faded through the night. We waited hoping they would come back but we could not see them anymore. We went back to the harbour watching the fireworks fired all around Reykjavik and because we could barely see the northern lights we gave complimentary tickets to our passengers.
