Today we will be operating on our lovely vessel Eldey for the 9:00 and 13:00 Classic Whale Watching tour. Make sure to dress according to weather, as it is usually colder at sea than on land.

Report from Eldey: Today on Steve Irwin's birthday, we went out in search of some whale action in the bay! About 15 minutes into the tour, we spotted 3 blows of 3 humpback whales! What a start of the day! We started analysing each whale individually in order to see them properly! One was doing lunge feeds to bait balls and we coul even see the fish jumping out of the water trying to escape the menace of the humpback. The second one joyned the action and was also doing the same! They also did rolls and underwater backflips, so we could even see the underside of their body grooves. It is a rare event and so close to us! After quite some time we found the third humpback resting and logging. We saw plenty of fluke dives from the other ones but this one did it much slower, a splendid opportunity to take a snap for the memories. We returned to the harbour safe and sound on this very sunny day!

Report from Eldey: With glorious sunshine and a good mood we sailed out, there was no wind and no waves! Only 15min after leaving we spotted our first blow. Humpback whale no 1 was spotted, then shortly after humpback whale no 2 and then(!) humpback whale no 3! These were the same individuals we saw in the morning, no 1 and 2 (Ekki and Frodo) were still actively feeding, often coming up with lunge feeding. No 3 (I am team Pongo for this one) was a bit calmer, resting at the surface a bit but always showing the fluke when it went for a dive.  We were with them for a bit but when two more boats arrived we decided to head on and see if we could find a forth, or in the worst case go for a little sail. We continued on to the usual spot its in but had no luck. We turned and headed onwards and then spotted the elusive no 4! This one is stil nameless but has a very pretty fluke which is showed us multiple times. After some time together we decided to head back, put the music on and enjoyed the sun on the way back.
