Today we will be operating our Classic Whale Watching on our lovely vessel Hafsúlan at 9:00 and 13:00. OurPremium Whale Watching tours are on schedule for 9 am, 12 pm and 3 pm.

Report from Hafsulan: Today we started our tour with cold winds, that rapidly disappear as we changed directions, but everyone was already packed with cozy overalls and we were ready to spot any type of cetacean in our bay. As we went, we spotted a few seabirds, until we got to an area with concentrated flocks of birds here and there. It was that moment that we saw the back of a minke whale, passing by! This minke was a bit tricky to follow, but we could still see it 3 more times before continuing the trip. Then, we saw another minke, that we couldn't wait for longer for it because we also spotted a blow not too far from where we were. We got to the blow and it was a humpback whale!! By this moment, the wind was very weak, in which made the blow of this whale extremely loud even from a certain distance giving away easily its position! All of a sudden, after another deep dive, this individual decided to pop up right next to us... WOW! It was a very good jump scare, the best we had for sure! We came back to the harbour very satisfied with our tour and the encounters in Faxaflói this morning!

Report from Hafsulan: We sailed out in the glassy sea on this cold afternoon looking to repeat the sightings of this morning. We searched for our first cetacean for a long time without having much chance. Suddenly, a very enthusiastic humpback whale appeared in the distance, giving us the pleasure of multiple fluke dives and even rolling around, flapping its fins! After deciding to leave this animal to be, we soon encountered a pod of 4 white-beaked dolphins, who curiously came o us before heading back to their lives. As we finished our trip and sailed back to the harbour, we passed by one last minke whale swimming in the distance.
