Today we will be operating our Classic Whale Watching on our lovely vessel Hafsúlan at 9:00 and 13:00. Our Premium Whale Watching departure times are 10:00, 11:00, 14:00 and 15:00

Report from Hafsula: We left the harbour under blue, sunny skies. The sea was also very calm but the further out we got the bigger the swell got meaning a few felt seasick. But overall the conditions and whales were fantastic. After sailing about 45 minutes we saw a large group of Northern gannets feeding. They were plunge diving everywhere. In this area we got to see our first cetaceans too, it was 3-4 minke whales including a well known individual called Tap. After seeing these minkes surface a lot we carried on in search of more. The minkes were everywhere though meaning we saw about 15 in total during the trip. Some came really close too to give our passengers a great look at the patterns on their body. Then ahead of us we spotted a huge blow and then another. There was 2 humpback whales joining the party. They were clearly feeding due to all the gannets around but also due to the unpredictable nature of their surfaces and dives. But we got incredible looks at the two whales as they came up lots, even really close to us! Then we headed home in the sun and all very happy.

Report from Hafsulan: We set off with the sun on our faces and barely any wind. When we were out at sea the swell picked up quite a bit so this did leave some people to feel seasick. The whales were however plenty today so we had a grand time out at sea. After sailing for about 30 minutes, we spotted our first pod of white beaked Dolphins, they were however replaced rather quickly by some minke whales! We then moved on and saw even more minke whales and dolphins. These dolphins came so close to the ship we could see the swimming underneath the surface! We were joined by a humpback whale as well and we could even see the dolphins teasing the Humpback for a bit. We had a nice time with of all of these animals until we came near the end of our trip, so we slowly started heading back to port again. Now with the waves in our back, we were able to enjoy the ride back while soaking in the sun.
