Report from Eldey: Calm sea, low wind, low swell and good visibility meant good conditions for us. After a while we saw splashes in the distance and decided to approach. We found a feeding pod of around 8 white beaked dolphins. They kept jumping out of the water and came very close to our boat. Great encounter. We continued our search further out and found a minke whale that seemed to be feeding as well. It kept changing directions a lot and was a bit tricky to follow but at some points it surfaced very close to our boat as well. In total we encountered 3 minke whales and 3 pods of white beaked dolphins of about 8 individuals.

Report from Eldey: With the wind and swell picking up this afternoon, we sailed out once again into Faxafloi bay. Taking quite a lot of time to get to our sighting spots of this morning, we were having a hard time to get the same type of experience. Suddenly, more and more things started to appear until we finally manage to have an answer: 3 minke whales were roaming around us, feeding, coming to the surface once or twice before disappearing down under. With potentially more around us, we stayed put to get the best possible sighting of these whales. Luckily, before leaving back to the harbor, we manage to have them show up meters from the boat, for all to have a great sighting.
