Tonight we are expecting an aurora activity of 3/9, SE 2 m/s and 7°C. Moon is currently at Waning Gibbous and 97% illuminated. Partly clouded skies are forecasted in the area.

Report from Eldey: We sailed out this evening into calm seas but slightly cloud covered skies. There were however some gaps in the clouds allowing us to gaze upon the stars while we waited for the northern lights to appear. After some time, we managed to spot the faint glow of the northern lights through the clouds. While it was not really visible by the naked eye, our cameras and phones did manage to pick up the lights above the skyline of Akranes. Eventually they faded fully but near the end of the tour a short burst of northern lights was visible throughout the clouds again, now even observable by our own eyes! While we did manage to see them shortly through the clouds and by the use of our cameras, we did hand out complementary tickets so everyone can come again to see the northern lights in their full glory
