Report from Eldey: This morning we set sail full of excitement and adventure, only 10min after leaving the harbour we already spotted a minke whale! They can be known for being a little elusive, but this invidivual came very close and lunge fed about 3x! After the other ships joined we decided to head on further out. About 40min later we saw some huge splashes on the horizon! Two humpback whales were breaching!! As we got closer we saw it was 3 in one area! One of which was Davy Jones II, who was travelling with an individual that had a gorgeous white fluke. There was a third invidual that we watched first before finding Davy Jones II. Davy was very friendly and came extremely close to us multiple times. In this area 1 or 2 more minkes popped up as well as another blow further out. We were very spoilt by this morning tour! Eventually heading back and seeing the minke a few more times.

Report from Eldey: After a cloudy morning, the weather decided to turn things around! The wind died down, the sea was calm, and the swell was barely noticeable. Perfect conditions for some cetacean fun! 🐋 We sailed out, and about 40 minutes into the trip, we spotted our first humpback whale! 🎉 But this one was a bit on the shy side. It gave us a couple of brief appearances, just enough to tease everyone before diving down into the deep, saying "whale, see ya later!" 🐳 Not to worry though, because just as we were moving on, we saw another blow in the distance! This second humpback was in a much better mood. It put on a show, even treating us to some epic peduncle throws! The crowd on board was totally pumped, and I'm pretty sure that whale just wanted to "make a splash" with us! 🌊 But wait, there’s more! While we were focused on the humpback’s performance, a minke whale made a sneaky appearance, most likely busy with its lunch. Maybe it was saying, “I’ll have what the humpback’s having.” 🐋🐟 All in all, it was an amazing day out on the water, with whales showing us their best moves and the ocean giving us perfect conditions. Whale done, everyone!
