Report from Eldey: This afternoon, we were finally able to sail out into the bay as the wind and swell decreased after a couple of rough days. The sun was shining bright, and the cold breeze reminded us that winter is finally arriving. Just five minutes after departing from the harbor, we spotted a minke whale! It appeared in front of our boat, resurfacing multiple times and giving us a chance to get a good look. We decided to continue our journey and sail further into the bay. After about 45 minutes, we spotted a blow close by. As we started to get closer, we saw a fluke dive in the distance—a humpback whale! We waited patiently until it returned to the surface for a few dives before diving down and showing its fluke! We waited again to see it once more, and after another fluke dive, we decided to head back home, happy with our sunny afternoon and great sightings!
