CLASSIC WHALE TOUR | 13:00
Report from Eldey: Today we had grey skies above us but for most of the tour, it stayed dry for us. There was a bit of wind but no white caps on the water, so we had really good conditions for spotting some wildlife. After heading around Viðey, we spotted a blow! It was a humpback whale! It was one of the ones we had also seen yesterday, still doing similar behaviours as well. We were able to watch this individual for quite a long time and the whole time it was feeding frantically. It constantly changed directions and sometimes swam fast to different areas, so definitely kept us on our toes. A few times, the whale came up so close in front of our boat that we could see the entire body of the whale! While we were waiting for the whale we also saw around 6 harbour seals hanging out around us. After a while, we continued our search around the other islands but couldn't find any other whales so we went back to our first friend. The humpback was still in the same place and still feeding! Before we had to head back into the harbour, we were treated to some more very up close and personal encounters! One time the whale was so close that some of our passengers on the bow and even on the top deck got a face full of whale blow! An extra added bonus!
